Cash prizes awarded in three categories: 

Division I - grade school to age 13   
Division II - middle school and high school to age 17 
Division III - college undergrad to age 23  

Repertoire requirements:
(All pieces to be performed from memory. Any piece with a piano accompaniment must be played with piano.)

Division I (5-10 minutes): 
Two contrasting solo pieces or movements.

Division II (10-15 minutes):
1. Required work: One movement from an unaccompanied suite, partita or sonata by J. S. Bach.
2. A piece of the student’s choice, which may be a single piece or a movement of a sonata or concerto. Note: More than one composer must be represented.

Division III (10-15 minutes):
1. One movement from a solo suite, partita or sonata by J.S. Bach, Hindemith, or Reger. 
2. One movement from a concerto.

Featuring Guest Artist Caroline Coade, Violist in the Detroit Symphony and Professor at the University of Michigan


~ Mini-master classes lead by area teachers

~ Viola "Happy Hour" - time for refreshments and socializing

~ Instrument exhibits courtesy of viola vendors from tri-state area


Admission is $10 - Observers and listeners are welcome!
